"BBC Sport" report Manchester United midfielder Angel Di Maria will have a medical with Paris Saint-Germain in the next 24 hours ahead of a £44.5million move to the French champions. The Argentine star will meet with PSG officials in Doha today to finalise the transfer.
Earlier this summer Louis van Gaal expressed hope that Di Maria would stay at the club, but admitted he would have to adapt, saying, "The players have had to adapt to the philosophy and Di Maria has to do that. He can still do that, of course, because every player can. But it’s important that he wants to do that in his head. When you are open for coaching then you can change. But a change of behaviour is difficult because it’s not easy.
“Always, the old errors are coming back so a change of behaviour is not so easy. So we have to wait and see," van Gaal told the "Mirror". "It’s not that Di Maria doesn’t have the quality. He has to perform in a way that we wanted. Not in the way I want, but in the way we want as a club.”
The 27-year-old has already been fined two weeks' wages (£360,000) for failing to report to preseason training this week as he looked to force through a move to PSG, who were limited in their pursuit last summer due to Financial Fair Play before his British transfer-record-breaking £59.7million move to Old Trafford.
