Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet told Belgian media during the international break that he will continue to battle for the starting goalkeeper position under manager Jurgen Klopp.
The 28-year-old ruled out leaving the club in the near future despite not starting since Week 5 against Chelsea with summer signing Loris Karius currently the top choice at the club, while he is also the No. 2 with the Belgian team behind Thibaut Courtois.
"I've never been on the bench in my career," Mignolet said this week. "I don't want that and I won't accept it either. I will keep fighting to return as the first-choice goalkeeper. It's not right (to suggest leaving Liverpool) – that's for the future. I am fully focused on Liverpool."
