Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed that goalkeeper Simon Mignolet will start over Loris Karius in Tuesday's Round of 16 League Cup match against Tottenham.
"The chance is at 100 per cent – it’s a good chance! That’s only if nothing happens in training, then he will play 100 per cent," Klopp told the club website ahead of the midweek fixture.
“He is a real professional. We’ve had a few talks. It’s not that I had the perfect answer – I could not say ‘you are bad and he is good’ and that’s why he [Karius] is playing."
Mignolet, who has made his disappointment known in recent weeks, has only played in five Premier League matches this season, mostly when Karius was sidelined with a hand injury sustained during the preseason.
