England manager Roy Hodgson released the national team's 26-man provisional squad ahead of the European championships this summer, but will have to cut three players before the tournament.
There was no room for defender Phil Jagielka and forwards Jermain Defoe, Troy Deeney and Theo Walcott, but Jack Wilshere and Marcus Rashford received surprised call-ups for the upcoming friendlies before the cut to a 23-man squad.
