Wolfsburg's director of sport Klaus Allofs told "Sky Sports" that the club have accepted a bid for midfielder Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City, reported to be a £54million offer, with a transfer set to be announced after the Watford match this weekend.
"They have told me that nothing's going to happen today [Friday] or tomorrow morning," Allofs told reporters. "...De Bruyne is off to Manchester City. I explained at the presser [on Thursday] that we had begun talks, those talks have progressed. Now only minor issues remain."
The agreement ends a summer-long saga between the two clubs and the 24-year-old Belgian, who returns to the Premier League after leaving Chelsea for the Bundesliga side in January 2014.
De Bruyne is currently in Manchester after flying in Saturday morning to complete the final terms of the move, which is around £5million short of breaking the British transfer record.
"Of course it's stressful but it's a luxurious position for him to be in. He's going to go from a Champions League club to another Champions League club, that's a luxurious position to be in," Allofs said.
"He's done a lot of thinking but he's made this decision. To live with this uncertainty, as a professional footballer you'll just have to make it work."
